Motorcycle Couple Rides to Raise Money for Families of Fallen Officers
The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge began as a celebration of the Lakota Sioux warrior spirit and has a mission to raise awareness for social issues. It's a 10,000-mile journey on the open road that tests riders' physical, mental, and emotional fortitude. In 2020, the bi-annual event raised over $540,000 for nonprofit organizations across the nation.
Avid motorcyclist and supporter of law enforcement, Dustyn Monismith, has pledged to ride for Band of Blue again in 2024. In 2022, Dustyn finished 80th out of the 186 that started the challenge. Dustyn raised over $5,000 for Band of Blue and hopes to double that pledge with the help of his wife, Brenda, who is joining the challenge this year!
This year, Brenda Monismith is looking forward to the chance at taking part in this ultimate test of strength, endurance, and sheer willpower. Brenda is currently an instructor for the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy program. She and Dustyn teach students how to ride motorcycles and help them obtain their motorcycle licenses.
We are so grateful to Dustyn and Brenda for thinking of our organization and look forward to tracking their progress! The 2024 Hoka Hey Challenge kicks off in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 4th 2024 and will finish in Homer, Alaska.
All proceeds of this fundraiser will go to Band of Blue. Thank you for your support!
